What if you disagree with your MOT test result?
In such a situation where your opinion would differ regarding the test result that came up, you should discuss the matter with a MOT test station representative prior to any repair work being carried out.
If you require an appeal against a failed MOT test result
In order to appeal against a test result that failed, you’ll have to fill out an appeal form “VT 17” which is available at any MOT test station. You can however do that online or even by contacting VOSA. Keep in mind that the appeal must be made within 14 working days after the test. Then VOSA will schedule an appointment to recheck your vehicle within five days. Upon a successful appeal you’ll get part or whole test fee refunded
What if your MOT test certificate is lost or damaged:
A duplicate Test Certificate can be obtained from any MOT test station, provided you prove your right to have a duplicate test certificate. You will require,
1. Original MOT certificate Test No. alternatively the unique number from the vehicle registration certificate.
2. Vehicle Registration No.

Or else you can take your vehicle to the MOT test station and prove your right.
